Downstream Client Settles Indemnity Claim After Three-Week Arbitration

United States - Colorado

Our firm served as co-trial counsel in a three-week arbitration before a former federal court judge on behalf of a crude oil refinery client. The case involved contractual indemnification claims arising out of a pipeline leak and groundwater and surface water contamination. The client sought recovery for substantial response and remediation costs over a six year period. Our firm leveraged its long-standing knowledge of the client’s refinery, nuanced understanding of the regulatory based indemnity claims, and ability to navigate expert trial testimony to help the client settle the case after a three-week arbitration.
