Cable Company Fights Independent Contractor Misclassification and Joint Employment Class Action

A cable communications company defended a putative class and collective action in the Southern District of Iowa involving claims that independent contractors retained by one of the company's cable installers were misclassified as independent contractors and jointly employed by the cable communications company. 

Acting on behalf of the cable communications company, our firm secured an early partial motion to dismiss the plaintiffs' minimum wage claims, narrowing the scope of the lawsuit and permitting the parties to reach a favorable resolution.
