Nick Guzman Named 2023 ‘Pro Bono Attorney of the Year’ by the Hispanic National Bar Association

Nick Guzman, a partner in Faegre Drinker’s Chicago office, was selected as the recipient of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) 2023 “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” award, which honors attorneys with demonstrated dedication to the development of pro bono legal services to the Hispanic community and successful participation in activities and efforts that extend pro bono legal services to underserved and disadvantaged communities.

Guzman was recognized for his commitment to pro bono work and passion to create change within the Latino community. He serves as Board President of Erie Neighborhood House, an immigrant-serving community organization, as well as serving as a trustee of the National Museum of Mexican Art and as an appointed Commissioner of the Illinois Medical District.

In addition to helping form the Latino Leadership Council in Chicago, an organization focused on increasing the political influence of Latinos in government and the private sector, Guzman provides pro bono counsel to the Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation and has worked on a pro bono basis with the National Immigrant Justice Center.

The HNBA is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of over 78,000+ Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students, and legal professionals in the United States and its territories. The HNBA/VIA (“Vision in Action”) Fund is the association’s 501(c)(3) charitable arm. Awards will be presented during the HNBA/VIA AC2023 National Awards Reception on September 7, 2023.
