In more than 15 years in health policy, government affairs and strategic communications, Nick has led efforts that have resulted in legislative, executive branch and regulatory wins for clients. His work has helped enact multiple pieces of legislation into law, and regularly he maintains strong relationships with key congressional health-focused committees. Nick has successfully represented client interests on nearly every significant piece of health care legislation over the past decade, including the 21st Century Cures Act, prescription drug user fee bills, numerous Medicare packages, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and a number of annual appropriations bills, particularly the Labor, HHS and Education spending bill.
In addition to representing clients before Congress, Nick engages with federal departments and agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), among others. He also has formed and directed a number of coalitions uniting diverse stakeholders around a common policy goal.
Strategic Communications Campaigns
Nick leverages his experience as a congressional press secretary, campaign manager and journalist to develop compelling messages and materials and help clients secure earned media coverage of their issue to help advance their overarching policy goals. He also helps navigate crisis situations by advising on communications strategies and tactics.
Nick is the leader of the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
Nick previously served as a legislative assistant and press secretary to a senior member of Congress and managed two successful re--election campaigns. Before coming to D.C., Nick was a staff reporter for The Times newspaper in Trenton, New Jersey, where he covered various beats, including politics and elections, courts, county and local government, and education.

Nick and his wife Carrie are the parents of five children –— 3 boys and 2 girls –— ages 1 to 11. Nick enjoys participating in many activities with his children, including Cub Scouts, helping coach sports and volunteering in their schools. In addition to time with this family, his other hobbies include reading, especially works on history, faith and fiction; running; hiking; kayaking; visiting historical sites and time outdoors, especially at the beach or mountains.
