Stacy N. Massey

Overview

Stacy Massey advises clients across a range of industries throughout all phases of litigation. She offers guidance through written and oral advocacy, discovery, motions, trial preparation and appellate work.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Stacy served as a law clerk in the Iowa Supreme Court for the Hon. Justice Christopher McDonald. In that capacity, she reviewed appellate briefs, conducted independent legal research, authored bench memoranda, proofread opinions and assisted in preparations for oral argument.

In addition, Stacy served as a corporate law summer associate for an insurance company where she researched and analyzed legal issues associated with investing and lending in several European countries. She also drafted memos on (1) whether to pursue fraud claims against Texas-based medical providers and (2) institutional exposure to primary and secondary insider-trading liability. 

Before entering law school, Stacy was an organizer in Chicago’s small business community. She worked on city and state-level policy issues, such as sign reform and licensing reform.

Personal Interests

Stacy is an avid fan of podcasts, and was the host of the How’s Business? podcast from 2017 to 2020. The podcast explored what it is like to navigate Chicago’s business regulations. In her free time, she enjoys reading short stories, keeping up with local politics and urban hiking.
