Construction Company Selects Electronic I-9 Provider

North America - United States | North America | United States - Minnesota

In our capacity as immigration and labor and employment counsel for a large national construction company, our firm provided on-site HR training to ensure I-9 compliance for the company’s headquarters and worksite locations. In addition to providing training, our immigration professionals conducted thorough system compliance review for a software vendor who would handle the company’s Form I-9 processes.

Through contract review and system demos, our team identified gaps in the contract. These gaps related to the vendor’s liability for noncompliance relating specifically to electronic I-9 regulations and highlighted areas of responsibility in the event of an I-9 audit that the vendor should provide. This guidance helped the client secure a more favorable contract and identify weak spots in the I-9 system, thereby allowing smoother integration and more security once the implementation was complete.
