Captive Insurer Creates MMSEA Section 111 Reporting Compliance Program

North America - United States | North America

A captive insurance company, formed prior to the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA), designed and implemented policies and procedures to comply with the reporting requirements of Section 111 of MMSEA.

Our firm created a Section 111 compliance program for the captive insurer that was uniquely tailored to suit the captive insurer’s needs, and complemented the insurer’s existing compliance program by working with and through the insurer’s existing complement of professionals.

In addition to creating and implementing the initial compliance program, our firm continues to manage the quarterly reporting process for the captive insurer and provides counsel and assistance to the captive related to its claims. Additionally, we monitor new developments with respect to the Section 111 laws and provide updates to the client if and when any changes in the law occur.
