Counseling and Training
Jeff creates and reviews employment agreements, severance agreements, employee handbooks and personnel policies. He provides in-house training for managers and supervisors on workplace issues and laws.
Jeff has defended employers in jury trials and bench trials and before the EEOC and other state and local agencies during claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. He strategizes with employers on options to avoid claims and litigation. He has represented businesses in matters involving the FMLA, ADA, wage and hour issues, wrongful discharge claims, noncompetition claims, and other employment issues.
Jeff defends employers in federal and state OSHA matters. He has first-chaired occupational disease and workers' compensation cases in multiple states. Jeff conducts comprehensive, state-by-state claims evaluations, and analyzes and develops strategies to help businesses design, implement and manage effective claims handling processes.
Jeff counsels businesses, as employers, public accommodations and commercial facilities, on, complying with ADA standards for accessible building design, and requirements to provide auxiliary aids and/or modify programs to facilitate equal enjoyment of services and programs. He defends businesses in litigation under Title III of the ADA and represents housing providers on matters relating to federal, state and local fair housing laws.
Jeff represents businesses in matters relating to workplace violence. He has successfully assisted employers in efforts to protect employees from stalking and legitimate threats of violence by obtaining workplace violence restraining orders on behalf of an employee.
