Bemis Company, Inc. has agreed to combine with Australian packaging company Amcor Limited in an all-stock deal that values Bemis at approximately $6.8 billion. Bemis Company is headquartered in Wisconsin and is a supplier of flexible and rigid plastic packaging used by companies worldwide, with approximately 16,000 employees. Amcor is a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, with approximately 35,000 employees. The merger will create the global leader in consumer packaging and is targeted to close in the first quarter of 2019, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.
