FaegreBD Represents SunOpta in Acquisition of Sunrise Holdings

Faegre Baker Daniels is representing Toronto-based SunOpta, a global company focused on organic, non-GMO and specialty foods, in acquiring specialty frozen fruit supplier Sunrise Holdings, Inc. (Sunrise Growers) for approximately $450 million. The transaction is expected to close in the fall of 2015, subject to regulatory approval and customary  closing conditions.

Corporate partner Jon Nygren is leading the deal team, which includes core members Eli Isaacs, Kassendra Galindo and Laura Yockey, and attorneys from multiple offices and practice areas including labor and employment, food regulation, real estate, tax, and antitrust law.
