Pat Cross partners with health care and life sciences companies to develop strategies and structure deals that advance their business objectives. The leader of the firm’s national health and life sciences industry team, he collaborates with executives and in-house counsel to address challenges and opportunities presented by health care reform and other industry changes. He combines his experience in complex corporate transactions with his knowledge of the regulatory environment in which health care and life sciences companies operate to serve a client base that includes emerging, established, for-profit and nonprofit companies.

Life Sciences

Pat helps life sciences companies negotiate research and development collaborations and outsourcing arrangements and analyze technology transfer and licensing issues. He also develops compliance protocols for various regulatory matters.

Health Care Innovation

Pat helps for-profit and nonprofit companies identify new ways to deliver higher quality health care services more efficiently and at lower cost. He helps clients create and operate Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs); develop collaborative care; create risk-sharing arrangements and clinical integration between and among providers; develop commercial and Medicaid products; and develop population health strategies and patient-centered medical home models.

Physicians & Physician Groups

Pat works with specialist physicians and physician groups to develop: strategies for hospital/physician alignment; clinically and financially integrated provider organizations; joint ventures; call coverage agreements; professional services agreements; co-management arrangements and other strategic, regulatory and transactional matters.

Health Plans & Employers

Pat works with health insurers and employers with self-funded plans to develop and implement new health care strategies, such as new clinical delivery models and high performance and collaborative care networks, including on-site and near-site employee clinics.

Pat also works with entrepreneurs pursuing opportunities in health care reform and innovation, such as new health care delivery models and health information technologies.
